Peanut Butter and Jelly Hot Chicken Wings

FOOD

Weird? Eww? Hmm? Interesting? Our thoughts exactly. But this appetizer is the primary reason why we will be back to Twisted Spigot! It is hard to explain with words, but it was sweet and spicy with a hint of peanut butter and candied nuts. It was a savory dish with a Thai kick!

We also tried the double decker B.L.A.T which was loaded with fresh avocado. We needed more content for the article (actually we were just hungry) so we ordered the classic burger with cheddar cheese. The artisan bread paired great with the flavorful meat. The fries are different (hence the name “Twisted”). They are basically potato wedges that are spiraled and taste like seasoned fries. Our only complaint is we wish there were more of them.

Their brand is comfort food with a twist… on the menu, you’ll find items like awesome appetizers, sliders, salads, burgers, sandwiches, street tacos, and even fish and chips.

Drink

All sorts of beer on tap (over 50). Ales, lagers, ciders, seasonals, etc… Not sure what you like? Try a flight or ask for a sample. If you like cocktails, try the Sangria del Toro (Malbec, orange liqueur, brandy, and fruits). It was strong with a fruity taste.

Take your crew to Happy Hour: Monday through Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Enjoy $3 CK Mondavi wines by the glass, $3 well drinks, and $3 domestic drafts pints.

Service – Price – Atmosphere

The service was EXCELLENT. Our server (shout out to Twisted Roger) was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and suggested different types of beers based on our tastes. He checked on us often and offered up great food suggestions. We all know good service is hard to come by, so we really hope the service stays strong here. As far as price, we always say it’s relative. For four drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees, it was $55.

This location is right near campus, so it has a student vibe. It has a pub feel with low lighting and deep colors. The music was not blaring and the TVs were on low. Speaking of TVs, we counted at least fifteen from where we sat. Perfect place to watch March Madness and Tech baseball this spring!

Oh my! I have not left many reviews for local places (& we go to many-hubby is Employed by a large Lubbock media group and has been for years! ) but this place…!!! Wow! The service was amazing! The beer available on tap was unlike no other in this area–and the food!…what else can I say? Ordered the street tacos–with the swordfish–having grow. Up in Los Angeles , I’ve had my share of “fresh” good fish tacos–these were the best since the ones I ate literally off the fishing boats while deep
sea fishing in January of ’99!!!
I can’t wait to go back!!!
