Lubbock Moonlight Musicals

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

If you missed Lubbock Moonlight Musicals’ latest and final performance of the summer season, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, you’re in luck! There have been two dates added due to popularity: Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10. This is one you do not want to miss. And we’re giving away a pair of tickets!

We saw Friday evening’s show, and while the rain tried to put a damper on things… it stopped just in time and turned out to be a beautiful evening! This musical brings awesome dancing and humor with just the right amount of sweetness. It tells a story of 1850s newlyweds Millie, who has six sisters, and Adam, who happens to have six brothers. Millie tasks herself with trying to get her quirky brothers-in-law married and out of the house she shares with her groom. Add in some hard-learned etiquette lessons on how to win over a lady and humorous one-liners, and you’ve got a great show!

Locally, I enjoyed all of the lovely patio evenings with a glass of wine and good friends; outside Lubbock, I enjoyed traveling to the lake with my family.

My favorite activity from this summer was the barn dance at Lone Star Cowboy Church when my boyfriend got down on one knee, after one of our fav songs, and brought a ring out of his pocket, and asked me to be his wife! I said yes!

My kids and I did some volunteering at the Dream Center, and it really inspired us all. We did take a family vacation, and seeing how some of Lubbock’s least fortunate live made us appreciate what we have even more.

My mom’s celebration after her last day of radiation! I honestly can’t even begin to guess at the number of times she and I have watched this movie together (as she introduced me to this at a very young age) along with Under The Yum Yum Tree!!!

I got engaged this summer! This movie is one on a list of movies I want to see with my fiance, but it would be so much better live. ☺
