Jason and Kate Diehl, who opened Crafthouse Gastropub, have been in the restaurant business since 2006. Their latest venture offers up a vast array of delicious food and drinks. On our visit, we started off with the pretzel appetizer with both the Shiner mustard and queso for dipping sauces. Yummmmo! I got the BLT, which sounds ordinary but it was far from the typical. The sweet tomato jam and fried egg (recommended by our waitress) really set it apart. We also tried the pizza and the different kinds of cheeses were quite tasty. Plus, anything served in a mason jar gets a smiley face in my book! My iced water came in a mason jar, as did my dessert.
They have quirky dishes, like the potless chicken pot pie. Whoda thunk?! But it’s so great. This place is a perfect spot to visit with out-of-town guests. They also have a full bar, including a great selection of craft beers (18 on rotation).
