Cagle Steaks

Steakhouse and BBQ

Today’s post is written by guest contributor Allison.

When it came to my wedding, my husband had two requests: that the food at the reception was good and that he could wear cowboy boots.  He left the other 98% of the wedding up to me.

Now, the rehearsal dinner, that is a different story.   In most cases, the rehearsal dinner is the groom’s night. When my husband and I started talking about what he wanted the rehearsal dinner to look like, we came up with several criteria:

1. The location needed to seat around 75 people.

2. There needed to be beef and chicken on the menu.

3. The setting needed to be relaxed.

4. The restaurant needed to be accommodating to our time frame, decorations, using a microphone, etc.

5. It needed to fit Reagan’s personality.

Not so difficult, right? Wrong.  I suggested from the beginning that we look intoCagle’s, but my husband brushed it off since we assumed there would only be a steak option. After lots of number crunching and frustrations with other restaurants, we finally checked out Cagle’s catering rooms and menu options. What do you know – they have rooms to accommodate anywhere from 15 – 350 people.

Their catering menu offers steak, barbeque, or fajitas, with multiple meat options and sides and drinks to go with each.  The catering menu prices range from $14 – $28 per person. Considering all that is included, this is quite a deal!

We chose the Townhouse for our rehearsal dinner and could not have been more pleased with the food, the atmosphere, and the staff. All night, our guests were saying, “This is SO Reagan!” The room was a separate building from the main restaurant, and Cagle’s gave us access to the room most of the afternoon to decorate. The setting was private enough to feel like it was our own, without sacrificing the restaurant accommodations.

I may be talking about a rehearsal dinner location, but don’t forget that Cagle’s is a fantastic restaurant any time you want a steak.  My steak-eating, cowboy boot wearing husband gives it two thumbs up.  If you haven’t visited this West Texas treasure, you are missing out on a Lubbock specialty!
