Graduation is this weekend! Lubbock will be filled with family, friends and visitors from all over. If you are a Lubbockite, you know that this particular weekend in May is a busy one. All of the restaurants, movie theaters and shopping centers will be packed. As former Texas Tech graduates, Lubbockites, and Lubbock transplants, we know some hot spots that will surely impress your out-of-towners.
50 Yard Line: This place is Texas Tech to the core. They have several big rooms to accommodate your group. If you haven’t already made reservations, you may want to jump on that.
Alamo Drafthouse: Food, drinks and entertainment. Can’t go wrong here. Plus, Neighbors 2 is out this weekend! Find more movie times here.
West End Shopping Center: Located right off the W. Loop, you have many shopping and food options, plus a dessert bar! We recommend Pie Five for a personal pizza followed by Crave for a sweet treat.
Caprock Café: Great place for a casual burger and some beers. This place is consistently good with a large drink and food menu. Get here early!
La Diosa: Sangria, wine, tapas, and live music. The moms, sisters, aunts, and friends will love this place. $5 cover after 8pm. More here.
National Ranching Heritage Center and/or the Texas Tech Museum: If it is not too windy out, the NRHC is great place to walk around to check out some history. Grandma and Grandpa will appreciate this (along with everyone else). More here.
Timeless Cafe and Cocktails: This new local restaurant is very unique. The cocktails are different than what you will find at other places in the Hub City. Ice ball, anyone?
