BushHog’s, located on 16202 TX-493 Loop near Woodrow Rd and Cooper High School, is now open! Lubbockites consider anything over 15 minutes a long drive, but trust us it is worth the drive out. BushHog’s is already getting rave reviews! Tentative hours are Sunday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-midnight. The operating hours are subject to change as they figure out the best operating hours. Check their Facebook page before you visit.
The large outdoor patio is dog-friendly! There are picnic tables, regular tables, a dog bed, water bowls, dog clean-up bags, and even a giant Jenga. Lights are wrapped around the trees and strung across the fences. There is also an area for live music! On top of all that, BushHog’s is also BYOB which allows you to bring whatever adult beverage you would enjoy. The atmosphere is great and we cannot wait to enjoy the full experience on a warm Lubbock evening.
The inside is a littler smaller, but plenty of tables. The menu is posted right above the counter and that is also where you will order. The food will be brought out to your table. Prices are relative, but we thought it was very reasonable. For two entrees, two sides, two drinks, and one appetizer it was $22. Also, the service was great. I am not sure the name of the young man who took care of us, but he was very kind and loved on our dog too!
Speaking of the food… It was very good! We had a hamburger and a brisket sandwhich. Everything is made fresh daily and not frozen. Choose between fresh cut fries and onion rings for your side. Check out the full menu here. I personally loved the BBQ sauce. It was sweet and a little bit spicy. You will also notice in our picture we had fried pickles! Yum!
Also, if you were wondering BushHog’s was named after the family pet, an English bulldog.
