Top 5 Pizza Joints

1. Capital Pizza – 2705 26th Street
This pizza place is new to Lubbock and certainly is going to be a challenge to its pizza competitors. It has a great atmosphere and even better pizza. The pizza is cooked slowly so the crust is crispy but the middle is soft. The toppings include gorgonzola, hamburger, bacon, cilantro, fried spam, alfredo, pepperoni, and many more. The taste is amazing. I really can’t even explain it to you with words. Hot, fresh, and delicious are the only words I can think of. If that doesn’t sell you, Capital Pizza also has 60+ varieties of beers. Go try them out this weekend! Click here for a full write-up. Facebook Page.

2. Crusty’s
This mobile pizza place is a little harder to find, but well worth the search. They cook their pizzas in a brick oven for 5ish minutes and then serve it to you on a paper plate. I don’t know what it is about their pizza, but it is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. I know that is saying a lot, but it is just that good. You can catch them at the First Friday Art Trail, City Bank, and Watson State Farm Insurance on certain days. Make sure to check out all of their Facebook pages for Crusty’s latest whereabouts. Cards and cash are accepted. Check out their Facebook page.

3. West Crust Artisan Pizza – 6012 82nd Street
West Crust has a varied menu as well as the opportunity to “design” your own pizza. Since each pie is made fresh, expect a bit of a wait; but it is well worth the time. This place is a gluten-free person’s dream place for a delicious (non-cardboard tasting) pizza. WC is truly a gourmet pizza place. You can add turkey bacon or glazed pecans if you want. If you aren’t that ambitious, they have your traditional mozzarella and pepperoni. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for; gourmet fresh ingredient pizzas. (Thanks to Linn, our resident gluten-free person.) Check out their Facebook Page.

4. One Guy From Italy – 4320 50th Street and 1101 University
I would say that One Guy from Italy is a staple in Lubbock. If you ask most locals, they will say One Guy’s is a go-to place for good pizza. They have two locations in Lubbock (one on University and one on 50th Street) to serve your pizza needs. If you go to the location on 50th Street, you can see them spinning the dough and making the pizza. That is how you know that it is a good quality pizza. One Guy’s also has typical toppings including pepperoni, bell peppers, buffalo chicken, eggplant, ricotta cheese, and more! A top reason for including them on this list is because they have daily deals. Two slices of pizza and a soda for $5.50, you just can’t beat that. Check out their Facebook Page.

5. Giorgio’s – 1018 Broadway
In all my years of living in Lubbock, I had never heard of this place or seen it. Recently, I was driving downtown and happened to spot in on the corner. Most people compare their pizza to what you would find in New York City and overall I would have to agree. It is not as thick, but the size is large and super tasty. I am a cheese lover and the pizza is so gooey and cheesy. It isn’t fancy or a huge place, but it is the ideal local pizza joint. The people are very friendly and nice and I cannot wait to take more of my friends to try it out. Check out them out here.

Papa Murphy’s is better than any of them. Their customer service (at 4th and Frankford anyway!) is the best anywhere.
Thank you for your feedback! Papa Murphys is good. I love when they do the shaped (hearts, football, pumpkin) pizzas.
