Particulars: 50 Yard Line; 2549 S Loop 289; 806-745-3991; Mon-Sat 5pm to 9pm, Closed Sundays.
In the Loop: Like football? Love Texas Tech? This is the place for you to get a great steak or chicken entrée with some delicious appetizers.
Target Lubbockite: Perfect for all occasions from intimate date night to family dinners to business meetings.

Lubbock (well, let’s be real here… all of Texas) is known for two things: steak and football. You won’t find a more gung-ho Texas Tech football steakhouse in this area than Fifty Yard Line off the Loop and University Avenue. The restaurant encompasses great food, and awesome Texas Tech football memorabilia, photos, etc. Plus, the prices are reasonable for the portion size and all of the side dishes you get. The menu has catchy football themed names such as the Cheerleader (grilled chicken teriyaki), the Referee (fried zucchini), and the Tackle (8 oz filet). My experience included a blue margarita, fried zucchini, veggies, french onion soup, flavorful chicken terryaki, a bowl of fresh fruit, and way too many muffins and rolls. I pretty much had to be rolled out of the place. Everything was really delicious and I had no complaints or issues with the food.

I’m sure if you’ve heard anything about the 50 Yard Line, it’s that they have amazing blueberry muffins and cheese rolls. That’s reason alone to check out this restaurant if you haven’t yet. Heck, they even give you their blueberry muffin recipe. I can guarantee you Tommy Tuberville didn’t get up and walk away from the amazing food… (he just clearly has no table manners).

50 Yard Line is a great place for business meetings, graduation dinners/lunches, prom dinners, rehearsal dinners/lunches, birthdays, retirements, dates, or whatever accommodations you need for a larger group. They offer six private rooms that can accommodate as small a group as 8 to as large a group as 200! I have had a couple of experiences with big groups at the 50 Yard Line and each time was a success. The folks at 50 Yard Line have accommodated big groups enough times that they have the process down. You will be able to choose the menu for sake of ease and price for bigger groups and banquets. Click here to view the different rooms and sizes. Also, if you have a smaller group and just want to catch up and chat, the lounge is a great spot for some wine or beverage of your choice. From 50 Yard Line: “We offer a variety of drink whether your concoction or ours, the polished bartenders at the 50 Yard Line know every libation in the book, as well as long enduring classics the editors overlooked. Come on in and mix it up.”

Be sure to look up and check out the cool light-up sign that lets the staff know when orders are up – much better than shouting from the kitchen or letting food sit out too long. My experience with the staff was a really good one. Everything came out fast and we were attended to frequently. It really makes the difference when restaurants fill their staff with friendly and knowledgeable people.
