2013 Children’s Consignment Heaven
Being a young family we are always looking for ways to stretch the dollar. Baby stuff and kid stuff can be expensive! Get some relief this weekend at Lubbock’s only bi-annual children’s consignment sale, Cradles 2 Crayons.
You can find everything kid-related: clothes, toys, maternity items, furniture, books, shoes, etc. Items are gently used but you may even find some things with tags still on them!
We love this event for several reasons: first it is put on by two full-time working moms who live in Lubbock. They started the event in 2006 and it has grown tremendously, from 40 consignors to almost 200. They started this business from the ground up and pay no national franchise fees like other consignment sales. All the proceeds and profits stay here in Lubbock.
In addition, the sale benefits the community including host Highland Baptist Church. Co-founder Allison Hays says, “What clothes are there after consignors pick up what they don’t sell are donated to the Highland Baptist Church Clothes Closet that offers help to mothers in need. Last year, in one sale, our consignors donated over $10,000 worth of items to Highland. It’s a great partnership!”
So, this weekend get your shop on and stretch your young family’s dollar while supporting a local business that supports the community. For more details visit their site at http://www.cradles2crayons.net/ and make sure to visit their Facebook Page.
